Jeannie Romas is a seasoned attorney and executive leader currently serving General Counsel with nearly 25 years of government experience, advising public entities, Boards and senior leadership on legal, operational and policy matters in highly regulated environments. She previously served as a Director at the Cook County Sheriff’s Office where she advised executive leadership, managed court operations and administrative proceedings and supported major operational and policy reforms. She was also an ILETSB certified instructor at the Sheriff’s Training Academy.
Romas served as Board Counsel to the Chicago Housing Authority, advising the Board of Commissioners and executive leadership on governance, fiduciary obligations, federal laws, compliance and complex housing initiatives, including MTW, RAD and mixed use developments. She also served as General Counsel to the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority, developer and owner of the Guaranteed Rate Field, home of the Chicago White Sox.
Romas earned a BA in economics from Northwestern University and a JD from the University of the Pacific MacGeorge School of Law in Sacramento.
