MaryAnne Gilchrist was promoted to be the Department’s first Deputy Division Chief in the Licensing Division on May 1, 2021.
Deputy Division Licensing
MaryAnne Gilchrist has been with the Department for 22 years. She was hired in 1999 as an agent with the Santa Rosa District Office. At that time agents performed both enforcement and licensing duties. Due to her enjoyment of working on licensing assignments she transferred to the Sacramento District Office as a Licensing Representative II in 2002.
In February 2018 she was promoted to a Staff Services Manager I in the Sacramento District Office. In October 2019 she was promoted as the Department’s first Staff Services Manager II in the newly formed Licensing Division. In her role as the SSM II in the Licensing Division, she oversaw the creation of the new Non-Retail Licensing Unit and first non-sworn training unit as well as managing the existing Headquarters License Processing Unit. On May 1, 2021 she was promoted to be the Department’s first Deputy Division Chief in the Licensing Division.
MaryAnne is looking forward to the future of the Licensing Division by overseeing the development and implementation of licensing online services and creating consistency throughout the district offices for our Department staff and stakeholders. Prior to beginning her career with ABC, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento.
