ABC Revokes the License of J&R Gas and Mini Mart in Vallejo
Revocation is posted at the business where illegal activity took place
Vallejo – On Thursday, February 28, 2019 Agents of the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) posted a notice of revocation at J&R Gas and Mini Mart located at 850 Sereno Drive in Vallejo. The posting was the result of a month’s long ABC investigation that took place in 2016.
Acting on information about the business from an allied agency, ABC agents sold purportedly stolen liquor to the owner while inside the store on several occasions. On the final visit, the owner bought multiple bottles of alcohol worth an estimated retail value of over $2,000. During the arrest, Agents recovered some of the previously purchased bottles and determined they were being offered for sale at the business. The owner of the store was also arrested and booked into jail on felony charges at the conclusion of the investigation.
The ABC sought administrative action against the alcoholic beverage license and recommended the ABC license be revoked, which was upheld by an Administrative Law Judge. After a lengthy appeal process, the license was ordered revoked.
