Second Notice of Modifications
The open comment period for the Second Modification of the Proposed Text of the Regulations for AB 1221 closed at 12:00p.m. on March 6, 2020. The Department will publish all comments received during this comment period along with the Department responses as soon as possible. The Department thanks those that participated in this process. The Department will now prepare the full regulations package for submission and approval by the Office of Administrative Law. Once the full package is prepared, the Department will publish it on this webpage. Reminder for potential training providers: The language of the required curriculum for RBS training courses found in Sections 162-166 had no clarity or necessity problems found by OAL and remains the same as the proposed text released on October 18, 2019.

Preliminary Rulemaking Activities
The Regulations and Policy Unit is seeking input from stakeholders on the use of food trucks as a bona fide eating place under Business and Professions Code Section 23038. The Department requests any comments or input on regulatory actions for food trucks be sent in writing. The Department desires to address this longstanding industry issue through a regulatory action in the coming year.
