January 9 is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

Thank you to ABC’s Sworn Peace Officers for working to keep us safe!

Across the country on January 9th each year, there are some citizens who take the lead to show support on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Here at the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) we have over 200 sworn peace officers who have taken the oath to uphold the peace. Today we say thank you!

Law Enforcement Officers of every rank and file have chosen a profession that puts their lives on the line every day for their communities.  They’ve answered a call to public service that is demanding.

From local, state and federal, their duties command dedication. Sometimes their jobs take them away from their families for long hours. Rarely do they know what their days have in store for them. There are places where law enforcement officers are the only paid emergency resource a community has. More often they work in coordination with other local, state, and federal organizations to make communities safer.

If you see a police officer today, tell them thank you. Thank you to all ABC Peace Officers.
