California Grants Portal

Grants.ca.gov is managed and hosted by the California State Library.

Sacramento – The Grant Information Act of 2018 (Stats. 2018, Ch. 318) required the State Library to build one website by July 1, 2020, “that provides a centralized location … to find state grant opportunities.”

State grantmaking agencies input and update their information into prescribed data fields to make all state grant opportunities searchable on grants.ca.gov. The Grant Information Act requires state agencies to provide summaries of each of their grant or loan opportunities, including, among other items, information about how to apply and links that grant seekers can follow for more details.

ABC administers grants to local police and sheriff’s departments through the Alcohol Policing Partnership Program (APP). The APP Program was created in 1995 to strengthen partnerships between ABC and local law enforcement agencies in order to address problematic businesses, keep alcohol away from minors, and implement education, prevention, and enforcement strategies.

Individual grant agencies implement the full-court press through a variety of innovative project objectives, which usually include training of law enforcement personnel, community involvement, prevention, enforcement, records management and data systems, liaison with the ABC district office, and media involvement.
