ABC Posts 45-Day Suspension in Parlier
ABC and Parlier Police found illegal activity at the Purple Plum Fruit Stand
Parlier – On June 16, 2021, the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) posted a 45-day suspension at Purple Plum Fruit Stand, located at 6872 South Academy Avenue in Parlier. Alcohol sales are prohibited during the term of the suspension.
This suspension came after an ABC agent working with the Parlier Police Department conducted an inspection and discovered over a pound of cannabis, unlawful possession of certain alcoholic beverages, and a stolen firearm inside the ABC licensed store. The agent also determined that the person in control of the store was acting in the capacity of an owner of the business but had not been qualified by the Department. Owners of an ABC licensed business are required to complete an application and background process to determine suitability to hold an ABC license.
This action was taken as a result of ABC’s partnership with the Parlier Police Department, an Alcohol Policing Partnership (APP) grant agency. APP’s mission is to work with law enforcement agencies to develop an effective, comprehensive and strategic approach to eliminating the crime and public nuisance problems associated with alcoholic beverage outlets that cause harm.
ABC encourages licensees to sign up for ABC’s Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs (LEAD) training free of charge at LEAD training. Licensees and their employees can take the training online.
ABC protects communities through education, prevention, and enforcement programs designed to increase compliance with California’s alcoholic beverage laws. To learn more about ABC enforcement and prevention programs that can help increase public safety visit ABC’s website.
