ABC upgrades computer software; Permanent license applications temporarily delayed during transition.
On May 24, 2010, the California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) will be implementing new business information system software. The software is designed to improve productivity and efficiency while continuing to provide important information to the public about ABC-licensed locations throughout the state of California.

To accomplish the complex data conversion process from the current software system to the new system, ABC will be unable to take applications for permanent alcoholic beverage licenses from Friday, May 14, 2010 to Monday, May 24, 2010.
Persons seeking to apply for permanent licenses are encouraged to contact their local district offices as soon as possible to make arrangements to file their applications in order to reduce any potential delays that could result during this transition period.
ABC understands this may cause some temporary inconveniences, and appreciates the public’s support while it implements improvements necessary to better serve its stakeholders.
No applications taken: May 17, 18, 19, 20.
