ABC Celebrates its Sworn Staff this National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

Sacramento – As January 9 marks National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) would like to express its gratitude to ABC’s approximately 200 agents.

“For the past 70 years, ABC peace officers have worked to reduce alcohol-related crime and improve the quality of life in communities across California,” said ABC Director Joseph McCullough. “The success of our department would not be possible without their professionalism, dedication, and sacrifice.”

ABC peace officers investigate a wide range of cases involving violations of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act—from illegally providing minors with alcohol, to narcotics sales and more. This involves working demanding schedules and irregular hours requiring significant personal sacrifice.

Frequently, ABC agents work in coordination with other local, state, and federal organizations to make communities safer. ABC extends sincere praise and appreciation to all peace officers both internally and across the nation.
