ABC Announces Grants for Local Law Enforcement to Reduce Alcohol-Related Harm
The California Office of Traffic Safety will Fund ABC Programs for Local Law Enforcement
Sacramento – The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) anticipates awarding grants up to the amount of $40,000 to 25 local law enforcement agencies. The grants would start as soon as October 1 and support the Minor Decoy program, Shoulder Tap program, Informed Merchants Preventing Alcohol-related Crime Tendencies (IMPACT) program, Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs (LEAD) program, as well as enforcement during the holidays.
These programs increase safety on our public roadways by addressing alcohol-related harm in the community. Grant funds are provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The grant operation period is from October 1, 2024, or upon federal spending authority (whichever is later) through August 31, 2025.
“These grants will help reduce youth access to alcohol and increase safety in communities throughout California,” said ABC Director Joseph McCullough. “We rely on local law enforcement to help make these programs a success throughout the state.”
If your agency would like to be considered for this grant, please submit the following documents by Friday, September 13, 2024:
