Assistant Director (Northern Division) - David Gill

The Director of the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), Jerry R. Jolly, named David Gill Assistant Director for ABC’s Northern California Division in January, 2006. Gill is a 20-year veteran of the Department; he joined ABC in 1985, serving as an Investigator and Supervising Investigator in ABC’s San Diego District Office.

He became Supervising Investigator in charge of the Rancho Mirage District Office in 1991, before being promoted to District Administrator of the Riverside District Office in 2000. In 2004, Gill was promoted to the number two man in the Northern Division as Deputy Division Chief. As Assistant Director, Gill oversees the operation of 11 field offices and 179 employees in ABC Northern Division, which stretches from Kern County on the South to the Oregon Border.

During his years with ABC, Gill was also Firearms Instructor for Southern Division, and an Internal Affairs Investigator. A native of Pomona, California, Gill was a Police Officer for the City of Coronado before coming to ABC. He is married and has two daughters.
